Projects and Vision
S&Z Energiesysteme GmbH, based in Nuremberg and led by founder and owner Jürgen Zitzmann, was among the first photovoltaic planners and installers to engage in the Western Balkans in 2017. A key factor driving this decision was the region’s untapped potential for transitioning to renewable energy.
S&Z successfully established planning teams in Albania, Montenegro, and Kosovo and initiated project planning of various scales through purely self-financed means. When selecting project locations, we focus on the following criteria:
- Search for suitable lease or purchase land
- Proximity to grid connections
- Proximity to ports and/or gas pipelines
- Proximity to water
As a result, we now have over 1.5 GWp of projects in the pipeline, with the first projects, totaling approximately 250 MWp, anticipated to receive building permits in 2024.
S&Z is committed to offering everyone the opportunity to participate in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. To facilitate this, we have launched the “GEIG” (Green Energy Investment Group) as a central platform for investments in renewable energy.
In addition to providing "green electricity," S&Z aims to plan and develop off-grid hydrogen projects. To this end, we have already secured areas, particularly in Albania, that meet the necessary prerequisites.
